buaya body & sound
Rafael/a’s bodywork practice began with his own experiences of healing after gender-affirming surgery in 2009.  He wanted to make bodywork accessible and safe for his trans and BIPOC communities, so he began to train in both bio-energetic and bio-mechanical bodywork traditions.  He has since offered bodywork in many spaces from clinical to communal settings, constantly evolving his practice to offer a union of trauma-informed approaches to people seeking his care.  With the permission of his elders and mentors, he has recently begun to weave his sound practice into private and group bodywork sessions where he offers Indigenous forms of sound healing to facilitate release, connection and ease.  In addition to offering private and group sound sessions, Rafael/a currently specializes in craniosacral therapy (CST), intraoral massage, and Reiki.
